Features + Benefits

  • Should only be be installed under metal roofing, asphalt shingles
  • Non-wicking, non-corrosive nylon material to prevent clogging
  • More flexible than a harder HDPE plastic ridge vent
  • Lightweight and easy to install

Product Summary

The Quarrix AtticDefense Ridge Vent ensures dependable protection that provides continuous airflow throughout the attic. AtticDefense is a nylon-fiber mesh ridge vent that provides exceptional airflow. It is designed to be the superior-choice among mesh ridge vents because of it’s engineered nylon which feels sturdy and wire-like, versus more common soft mesh materials. It will not compress or flatten over time, nor will it breakdown and clog compared to naturally derived mesh materials that use coconut hulls and fabric covered vents. Compared to Quarrix’s HDPE Ridge Vents, the Quarrix AtticDefense Ridge Vent is considered more flexible and lightweight, a value choice that delivers continuous ventilation for a cool and dry attic.

RoofingDirect.com offers an excellent selection of ridge vents made of high quality materials for your next job. Our team has decades of industry experience and is ready to serve you. Please contact us, and we will be happy to answer any questions.

Unfortunatley, the Quarrix AtticDefense Ridge Vent cannot be compressed further. This would also cause it to ventilate differently from what is intended.

  2. I have a standing seam metal roof with ridge vent which leaked during a wind driven rain storm. Does this system fit under the metal ridge vent, then re-install the metal cap and what about the raised ridges of the metal roof panels?

The Quarrix AtticDefense Ridge Vent could fit under the cap depending on the space you have on your roof. The thickness for this product is 7/8″, although I do not recommend it to be used on a standing seam metal roof. It is designed to be used more with asphalt shingle roofs.

You would want to nail it down to ensure proper installation. This product comes with a roll of 1 3/4″ coil nails.

Hi, this product is designed to be installed with either metal or asphalt shingles and is applied once a slot is made on either side of the ridge. I’m not sure if I’m understanding your question entirely.

It was pretty close to what thought would be. I did think it would have been a bit harder so not to crush. My concern over time will the shingles get loose!as it smashes down from snow–wind jiggling!!! Ineed another 50′ ,, but not sure if getting more!!! it is chaeper than Omni but not as firm!(((There are several omni–I’ld get the 16″ per foot venting))
